Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi has announced notification for Ph.D. Admissions for Spring 2012 session. The BIT Mesra is offering Ph.D. in full time and part time modes. The programmes are offered in the disciplines and departments of Applied Chemistry, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Applied Mechanics, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Architecture, Bio-Medical Instrumentation, Environmental Science and Engineering, Bio-Technology, Production Engineering, Centre of Excellence in Climatology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Computer Science and Engineering, Chemical and Polymer Engineering, Management, Civil Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Remote Sensing and Space Engineering and Rocketry.
Eligibility: Applicants should have an M.Phil or Master’s degree in Technology or Engineering or Pharmacy or Management or Architecture or any of their equivalent with at least 60 percent marks at Master’s level. Relaxations in marks will be applicable if the candidate has work experience. Candidates with B.Tech / B.E./ B.Sc. Engineering./ B.Arch./ B. Pharm./ M.B.B.S. with minimum 70 percent marks at Graduation level are also eligible. Other professional courses candidates also eligible subject to the conditions of the institute. Selection and Application Procedure: Selection of the candidates will be based on the performance in Ph.D. Entrance Test and Interviews. Last date for the receipt of completed applications is 4th January 2012. The Ph.D. Entrance Test will be conducted on 20th January 2012. The Ph.D. Entrance Test will consist of 2 parts. These are General Aptitude Test common to all applicants and Subject Specific Tests to examine basic fundamental knowledge of the candidates in the subject concerned.
