An internship is a great tool to help you define your career goals. For example, if you’re a ECE/ EIE/ EEE student you might consider an internship in the areas of Embedded systems, Microcontrollers, DSP processors, Networking area, Analog and Digital IC designs and Power electronics. In addition to that If your are a ECE student he/she can opt Mobile communications, Optical Communications, Image Processing ,satellite communication & GPS , GSM and CDMA technologies etc.
If you are a EIE student he/she can opt Process control Instrumentation, Power Plant Instrumentation, petrochemical instrumentation, Remote sensing etc. If you’re a EEE student you might be consider an internship in the areas of power utilization, power plant instrumentation, power distribution systems, Hydraulic and Thermal Electrical Machines maintenance, etc. which can help further refine your career goals.
For example, if you’re a CSE / IT student you should consider getting internships in both areas of soft ware and hard ware to help you decide which is best for you. If you’re a Mech / IP student you should consider getting internships in the areas of Machine tool design, Industrial Management, Automobile Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Refrigeration systems etc. Some of the companies offering internship for engineering candidates are:
1. For ECE/ EIE/EEE/ CSE/ IT students: ECIL, BEL, ITI, CDOT, CMC, BHEL, NTPC, VSP , NSTL and Some of the software companies like INFOSYS, TCS , WIPRO, KEANE, VIRTUSHA etc.
2. Mechanical / Industrial Production students: Mahindra & Mahindra , ESSAR Steels , L & T group etc. Not only BIG companies but there are some small scale industries also offering internship.
