Bioinformatics Project in B. Tech Biotech – M.Sc. Biotech in Canada

Question 1: I am in my final year of B. Tech (Industrial Biotechnology). I got a job in an IT company. I thought it would be beneficial to me if I did my final semester project in the field of Bioinformatics. Do you think I should go ahead?

Answer: It depends on the job profile you are opting at your company. If the company profile matches with the area of Bioinformatics project then only it is useful, other wise it may not fetch much to your career. Its better you check the company profile first and then decide on the project topic.

Question 2: I want to do my Masters in Biotechnology or Bioinformatics in Canada. Please provide me list of universities of Canada, which offer Masters Courses in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics? What are their eligibility conditions?

Answer: You need IELTS score of more than 6.5. GRE and TOEFL will be better. An internship is a great tool to help you define your career goals. For example, if you’re a ECE/ EIE/ EEE student you might consider an internship in the areas of Embedded systems, Microcontrollers, DSP processors, Networking area, Analog and Digital IC designs and Power electronics. In addition to that If your are a ECE student he/she can opt Mobile communications, Optical Communications, Image Processing ,satellite communication & GPS , GSM and CDMA technologies etc.
