AICTE has sanctioned approvals for as many as 302 engineering and 127 pharma colleges in Andhra Pradesh for the academic year 2019-20. As per the permissions, the total number of seats in these courses will be as follows:
Engineering seats: 1,53,331
Pharmacy seats: 11,130
Deemed universities and RGUKT institutions fill the seats on their own and the remaining seats will be filled through EAMCET counseing as per the guidelines. 70 percent of seats will comes under convenor quota and 30 percent seats goes to management quota.
1098 seats in RGUKTs:
There are 3 RGUKTs in Andhra Pradesh at Nuziveedu, Srikakulam and Idupulapaya. Total seats in these are 1098. These are offering 5 year integrated B.Tech in various branches.
New Colleges:
Rayalaseema University has started engineering college from this year with 240 seats. AICTE has approved Veda pharmacy college in Prakasam district with 60 seats. KITES womens colleges has secured approvals for pharma courses with 100 seats.
GITAM, KLU and Vignan deemed universities have 7800 seats in engineering course and 260 seats in pharmacy course. AICTE has approved the seats for the academic year 2019-20.
