The Government of India is proposed to hike fee in the premier technical institutions in the country, Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) and National Institutes of Technology (NITs) from the academic year 2016-17. The fee hike has been recommended by the Department of Human Resources Development of Government of India.
The present fee for engineering programmes in NITs is Rs. 70000 and the proposed new fee is Rs. 1.25 lakh. The fee being collected in IITs is Rs. 90000 and the proposed fee is Rs. 2.5 lakhs.
With these changes, the four year engineering course in NITs costs Rs. 5 lakhs and Rs. 10 lakhs in IITs. The Government is in the process of cutting the cost being spend on each student in these institutions.
The Government has informed that the education loans will be provided to the students of NITs and IITs with nominal interest rates. The Government is proposed to limit its expenditure in these institutions for salaries, library and lab facilities etc.

Sir….. how much fees for physical handicaped (PH) in NITs for B Tech
fees is same for all candidadtes whether he/she is general or any other category.But scholarship is given by the state government or center govenment.

sir you may think once again for increasing of fee in iits you are conducting exam for admission to iits at all indialevel the students are tacking coaching from 8th standerd on wards allready we spend money for morethan 8 lakhs again you are increesing i am general how can i bear the fee i am very small employee
