Why Organic Chemistry not fetching a job

A Student of Organic Chemistry has inquired about the reasons for not getting a job even after completion of the course. He informed that he got the M.Sc. Degree in 2008 but did not strike a job. He also interested in studying further. Here is a brief suggestion for students with this kind of education background. Keeping in mind your background I would like to say that there is no straight forward courses in Organic Chemistry. You need to diversify like taking short term training on drug design that is related to Organic Chemistry. This course has lot of demand in the job market.

An organic chemist with Ph.D. qualification will get excellent package in Industry in current scenario.

Yes, coming to the job chances, it depends on number of issues. Just having a degree may not guarantee you a job with a reputed corporate company. Skill Set does play a crucial role in the selection process of any company. You need to sharpen your communication, team spirit, leadership qualities and handling stress situations effectively. More importantly, try to get some work experience in some small and medium companies initially. You will have good learning opportunities in these companies and later you can try for a good position in a reputed company.
