What MBA after M.Sc. – Ph.D. in Nutrition

A student of Organic Chemistry asked, ‘I completed my B.Sc (MPC) and working as production chemist in Bulk drug industry. I am also doing my M.Sc. (Organic chemistry) through distance education). Is it useful for me doing MBA? If yes, which specialisation I will take? Please guide me? The following is an answer to this question. M.B.A present market scenario is not so good due to global economic turmoil. But again it will rise soon. With respect to your subject specialization its better to take marketing as specialization. Take up MBA course once you are little bit extrovert in nature and can manage an organization at any point of time. In a simple way you must have a dynamic characters and leadership qualities. Unless you are interested in marketing or other related MBA program and to become a leader in drug industry you should not opt this program. Normally after M.Sc. Organic Chemistry, students will go for Ph.D. where there is a market.

Ph.D. in Nutrition: National Institute of Nutrition (NIN), Hyderabad is the best Institute dealing with nutrition research in India. To get in there you require fellowship from ICMR. There are some other Universities offering this course. CFTRI (CSIR ) -Central Food Technology Research Institute Mysore is another ideal place for Ph.D . program. Department of Biotechnology is offering JRF positions and you will get these details from www.dbtindia.nic.in . Once you secure the fellowship you can join in any organization.
