RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme

Reserve Bank of India invites applications from eligible Indian candidates for the award of RBI Young Scholars Award Scheme. Under Young Scholars Scheme, the RBI will select a maximum of 150 candidates through all India examination and award a scholarship. RBI shall conduct an all India level competitive examination for this purpose. Selection test will primarily focus on the role and functions of RBI and banks in India. The examination will be held in English and all major regional languages. Selected candidates are required to work on projects of RBI in select offices for 2 – 3 months. They will be paid a consolidated stipend of Rs. 7500/- per month during the project.

Applicant’s age must be between 18 and 23 years. All students who have completed 10 + 2 years of formal education in 2010 or before and are currently pursuing their undergraduate studies in any discipline / subject are eligible to apply. There is no need to pay any application fee. The selection test for 2011-12 will be held on January 9, 2011 at various centers across India. The results of the selection test are likely to be announced in the middle of March 2011. The examination will be of objective multiple choice type. The paper will be of approximately 90 minutes duration and will have questions related to role and functioning of the RBI, the trend of banking industry in India and general economic and financial environment of the country. The syllabus for the examination was given on the website. Question paper for the written examination will be given in following languages: English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu. Candidates can apply either online or offline. Following are Last dates to receipt filled in applications:
