Osmania University, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh has announced PGECET 2012 notification. OU shall conduct Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (PGECET – 2012) for admission to PG courses in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, D.Pharm., Architecture and Planning courses. The vacant seats in above PG Courses if any after admitting GATE or GPAT qualified candidates will be filled through PGECET 2012 results and rankings only. There will be separate notification for GATE and GPAT qualified candidates. The OU also conducts centralised Web Counseling for the admissions purpose. GATE or GPAT candidates also can appear for PGECET 2012 if they wish to do so. Following are other details:
Eligibility for the PGECET 2012 is as follows:
1. Applicants should have passed in any one of these: B.E, B.Tech, B.Pharm, AMIE, B.Arch, B.Planning in the relevant branch or discipline.
2. Those candidates qualified in GATE/ GPAT and other equivalent national or state entrance exams need not appear for PGECET 2012. However they may also write PGECET 2012 if they wish to do so. PGECET-2012 qualified candidates will be admitted in the above mentioned courses only after admitting GATE or GPAT candidates. There are several institutions which are offering M.Tech courses for non GATE candidates. This is the right time to keep a track on them as the notifications will come out. IIIT Hyderabad is one such institutions and it has already announced admission notification for M.Tech based on it’s own PGEE scores.
Application Method: Interested candidates can apply online only through www.appgecet.org. Application fee is Rs. 500 (Rs. 250 only for SC/ ST students). Detailed instruction for applying online also available on the website. Detailed notification will also be displayed on www.osmania.ac.in along with official website.

Tuition Fee Details: Following are tuition fee details for M.Tech and M.Pharmacy Courses:
1. For University Colleges: M.Pharmacy Rs. 15000-25000; All other courses like ME, M.Tech, M. Arch, M.Planning Rs. 15000-25000
2. For University Colleges – Self Finance Category: M.Pharmacy Rs. 110000; For Other courses such as ME, M.Tech, M. Arch, M.Planning Rs. 57000.
3. For Private Unaided Colleges: Pharm D: Rs 68000 ; M.Pharmacy Rs. 110000; ME, M.Tech, M. Arch, M.Planning Rs. 57000
Note: Candidates whose parental income is less than Rs.100000 are exempted from payment of Tuition Fee subject to conditions of the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh.
Certificates to be produced for verification at helpline centers:
1. S.S.C. OR 10th Class Marks list (for Date of Birth proof)
2. Intermediate Marks Memo cum Pass certificate
3. Any of these Certificates: B.Tech, BE, B.Arch, B.Pharm, M.Sc, MBBS, BDS, B.Sc. Agriculture, B.V.Sc. or other relevant Degree Marks Memos

How can it reach by tomorrow evening? It is better if you handover it at the office tomorrow, if possible. Otherwise, pay the late fee and send it by the mentioned date. You may get an acknowledgement asking to pay late fee if they did not receive the application in time.

1) Am GATE qualified candidate , My GATE paper code is EC . Am I eligible to get admission to CSE in AP JNTUK affliated colleges.
2) Regarding DDs : Under EC we have 13 specilizations mentioned like DSP, VLSI etc. DO we need to take seperate DDs for DSP , VLSI ? or a single DD for entire EC is sufficent ?
3) When will be the counselling for GATE 2011 qualified candidates (PGEC 2011 ) ? GATE & PGECET counselling dates will be same or will there be seperate counselling for both?

1. You can apply for EC branch specialisations only as you was qualified in EC Paper in GATE.
2. You need to take one DD only.

This schedule may not be correct. The authorities have not released the counseling schedule till the date. Where did you get these dates? Should not believe / depend on whatever posted on the net / websites. We feel these dates may be wrong. Candidates will certainly loss half of the academic year if it is true!!

The counseling schedule is yet to be released. Regarding fee reimbursement, the scheme is intact for M.Tech. courses till the date. But the final decision is yet to be taken by the Govt. This may be informed through counseling notification.

Try to contact concerned officials at OU, Hyderabad if they could help in anyway. Another option for you is joining in Management Quota. Contact the college administration for more details.

because i do not have study certificates of my schooling and intermediate (even dont have Xorox copies). is that any other papers should i have to submit..
You can get them easily from your college. It is better if you have all the required certificates and not to take chances.

1.sept 5 and 6th Gate and Gpat councelling will be conducted.and the allotment will be given on 8th sept.
2.sept 9 to 13 pgecet councelling will be conducted.and the allotment will be given on 14th and 115 sept.
The councelling will be webcouncelling for all candidates.
Here is some imptnt info that hav seen in the newspaper.

and the remaining are M tech cadidates.

Unfortunately, either the APSCHE or the organising university (OU) are not compiling the last ranks / cut offs of PGECET counseling as they did for ICET and EAMCET. We have tried to get the last ranks info. But the Convener and the staff are very inactive and indifferent. Entrance Exam and Admission sections are separate and they are just complaining on each other for delay in counseling and nobody is able to provide last ranks information for the candidates.

And Convener also told that admissions will be taken care by another convener from CSE dept of OU. He informed that his responsibilities are over with the conduct of examination. Thats the fate of the issue!

mr pavan i cant tell u which college that u will get but without certificates they wont allow you for counseling . any how if u bring that certificates and provide Ur fathers income certificate so that reimbursement can be availed so please be in that work.

in vignan university this year they are taking candidates without pgecet but should have >60%
and another way you can opt for management seat…….
u can get seat in vignan university without pgecet if u hav 60%.While joining opt for guntur vignan campus u can have good placement.vizag vignan campus is not gud.

“Study Certificates from Relevant Degree to Tenth Class”.But usually after graduation(B.Tech) we have only the study certificate of that graduation (as we submitted the 10th study to the intermediate college and inter study certificate to the engineering college). Is graduation study certificate alone is sufficiant?

PGECET counseling will be web counseling only. No other mode of counseling will be there. You need to attend for manual certificate verification. Every thing will be done online after that phase.

In 2days DC newspaper i.e, 27/September/2011. Heading, “Strike holds students to ransom”, No1 knws anythng abt the PGECET counselling 4 admin 2 d M.Tech & M.Phar courses. The officials could not release the schedule 4 d counselling bcause unless the situation bcames normal in the T region it would not possible to admit students as many officials working in the admin counselling centres are participating in the strike….

If you get MHRD / AICTE fellowship for M.Tech, you may not be eligible for fee reimbursement, irrespective of your category and age.

We have not come across such courses in JNTU Hyderabad. But you may try for Part Time courses.

You must have PGECET or GATE to get admission in M.Tech / M. Pharmacy. Check if is there any possibility in Management / NRI quotas in private colleges.

Sir I am RaviKanth who have appeared to PGECET 2011 in Biotechnology stream. I have fee reimbruisement. In my second phase of counselling I dont have regular fee options in JNTU-VZM. (as i heard the seats will not be filled in any academic year) I am not at all intrested in “SELF FINANCE ” I want only JNTU – VIZIANAGARM (REGULAR) with fee reimbursement as I am having my personal problem i have to study there ……… If the seats of REGULAR (GATE , GPAT or PGECET ) are taken by the candidates are not joined in that college how can I claim that REGULAR seat in JNTU – VIZIANAGARAM – M.TECH – BIOTECHNOLOGY – REGULAR

What information do you like to know? So that we shall give specific information.
I am qualified in GATE-2012 from CS.Is PGCET notification will relase again for GATE qualified candidates.If so when I can expect the date.
APSCHE will release separate notification for GATE / GPAT qualified candidates. You need not apply for PGECET. You can write PGECET if you are confident of getting good rank which can increase your chances irrespective of your GATE rank.

APSCHE will announce separate notification for GATE and GPAT qualified candidates. The notification is yet to be released. PGECET is not required for GATE / GPAT qualified candidates. They can appear for PGECET if they are confident of securing a better rank through PGECET than GATE.
While filling the form online for AP PGECET It says that we need to fill in SSC (10th Class) Hall Ticket Number. What is this Hall ticket number? Is it the same as ‘Roll Number’ that will be there on the SSC certificate?

There will be separate admission process for GATE and GPAT qualified candidates. You need to apply separately in response to that notification. You can check / search for the details on this blog.

Did you try to download the hall ticket again from PGECET website.
It seems that the link for download of hall ticket is removed. You can try to contact at the office of the Convener, PGECET 2012 at OU.

You can try in Minority colleges. We hope they will have some relaxations with regard to entrance examinations.

You should produce all the original certificates from Class VII to Graduation . Fee reimbursement is applicable for BC-D students if the parent’s income is less than Rs.`1 lakh.
