NIT Warangal has been entrusted with conducting NIMCET 2012 Examination. NIMCET is for admission to MCA programmes in NITs across the country. Several other private and Government institutes also consider NIMCET scores for admission to MCA prorammes. National Institute of Technology MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) is an all India level entrance test. Following are details of eligibility for NIMCET 2012, previous cut offs, last ranks for various NITs, exam structure, coaching centers, nature of the question paper, list of the institutes accenting NIMCET scores and application procedure:
Structure of NIMCET: This is an objective type entrance test with 120 multiple choice questions. The question paper will be divided into four parts. These are 1) Analytical ability and Logical Reasoning – 55 questions 2) Computer Awareness – 10 questions 3) General English – 15 questions and Mathematics – 40 questions. Wrong answers will be given negative marks.
Syllabus for NIMCET Entrance Test: Following is the section wise syllabus for NIMCET.
1) Mathematics: Coordinate Geometry, Probability and Statistics, Calculus, Trigonometry, Set Theory, Analytical Ability and Logical Reasoning, Data Analysis, Vectors, Analyzing the passage, Data Interpretation and Logical Situations.
2) General English: Articles, Forms of verbs, Antonyms, Prepositions, Synonyms, Meaning of words and phrases, Technical writing, Word power and Vocabulary.
Eligibility Requirements: Applicants should have passed in Graduation in any discipline with at least 60 percent marks. They must have studied Mathematics at +2 level. Those appearing for the final year examinations of qualifying degree are also eligible to apply. Age must be above 21 years.
