National Handicapped Finance and Development Corporation (NHFDC), a Trust Fund is inviting applications on behalf of Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India for the award of Scholarship under the Scholarship Scheme (Trust Fund) for Students with Disabilities 2012. Under this scholarship scheme, 1000 Scholarships will be awarded to eligible physically handicapped (PH) students. The scholarships will be awarded for degree and post graduate level professional and technical courses from any recognized institutions in India. Interested candidates can apply any time in academic year for scholarships under this scheme. There is no last date for the receipt of completed applications. Scholarships will be awarded to eligible candidates on quarterly basis. The applications received in the preceding quarter will be considered for that quarter. Candidates can also submit an advance copy of application online through www.nhfdc.nic.in or www.socialjustice.nic.in .
Under this scheme, Rs. 2500/ per month will be awarded for Professional Graduate Courses and Rs.3000/- per month for Professional Post- Graduate Courses in a academic year. Books and Stationery allowance will be paid to the selected students pursuing Professional Graduate Courses at Rs.6,000 per annum and Rs.10,000 per annum for Professional Post-Graduate Courses.
Parental income of the applicants should not be more than Rs.25,000 (Rs. 3.00 Lakh p.a.) from all sources. Family income also includes income of parent or guardian.
