National Testing Agency for NEET, JEE and Other Entrance Exams in India

The Government of India has approved the set up of National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct various entrance examinations for admissions into engineering and other professional courses. The NTA will start its operations by conducting exams becing conducted by the CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education)

The Union Cabinet of India has approved the creation of a National Testing Agency (NTA). The Agency will conduct entrance examinations for admission into higher educational institutions.

NTA will conduct NEET and other exams being handled by CBSE and AICTE. Presently CBSE is conducting NEET, NET and various other exams. The NTA will be created as a Society registered under the Indian Society Registration Act, 1860.

The entrance examinations will be conducted by NTA online mode and will be held twice a year. The exam centers will be located at sub -district / district level. The students also will be imparted with hands-on training to appear for online exams.

NTA is likely to benefit about 40 lakh students appearing in various entrance examinations. The agency will focus on testing the aptitude, intelligence and problem solving abilities of the students.
