Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) has announced admission notification for Doctoral Programmes for the academic session commencing from August 2012. IISER is offering Integrated Ph.D. and Ph.D programmes in Biological, Chemical, Mathematical and Physical sciences. Both are full time residential programmes. All the candidates admitted to the Integrated Ph.D. programme will get Rs. 10000 per month as fellowship until the completion of the course work. Ph.D. candidates will get fellowships from CSIR / IISER-TVM / ICMR / NBHM / DBT / UGC.
1) Integrated Ph.D. programme: Candidates with Bachelor’s degree in the disciplines of Biological Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, Engineering and Technology are eligible to apply. Individual schools of IISER may have additional eligibility requirements such as qualification in JEST and NBHM. Final year candidates also eligible.
2) Ph.D. Programme: Applicants should have Masters Degree in Biological Sciences, Mathematics, Statistics, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences and any other related fields. The concerned school may also ask for additional qualifications like CSIR-UGC-JRF, NBHM, ICAR-ICMR JRF, GATE, JEST, INSPIRE Ph.D. Candidates studying their final year of the qualifying degree are also eligible to apply.
Application procedure: Interested candidates can apply online through IISER website at http://phd.iisertvm.ac.in . Candidates may be required to upload relevant documents such as proof of date of birth, mark-list, community certificate, photos online. Application fee is Rs. 200. Selection will be based on the performance in aptitude-test / interview at IISER-TVM. Last date for the online submission of application is 9th April 2012.
