Class II – PUC Biology Paper Leak in Karnataka – No Re-exam

Bangalore, March 2013: The Government of Karnataka has clarified that the state government has no plans to conduct re-exams for Class - II (PUC) biology subject. The Primary and Secondary Education minister Visvesvara Hegde Kageri informed that the Government has no proposal to conduct re-examination.

He also said that the investigation is under progress on the Tumkur issue (rumours of paper leak) and the police have already arrested as part of the investigation.

The State Government of Karnataka has also issued a circular to Block Education Officers (BEOs) to set up two flying squads in their respective taluks to supervise the examinations. The squads will consists of officials from education and police department. A videographer also follow them to keep vigil on the nearby xerox centers, cyber cafes and tuition centers.

The state government is also contemplating to enforce Goonda Act against those involved in paper leaks. The Government has also set up a helpline to receive suggestions from the students and parents.
