KV Admissions 2020-21 Updates – New Guidelines and Reservations

At the beginning of March 2020 news had been that the process of KVS admissions were on a delayed track on account of the modifications and essential changes being made in the admission guidelines, long due in making it a smooth and simpler process. Though parents were relived with the official announcement of the same it wasn’t long-lived. The COVID 19 (Coronavirus) has left effects of distress and uncertainty on the whole world and KVS hasn’t been an exception. The process and news on the changes in the admission guidelines have been on hold and will only resume after the lockdown.

Online Applications after lockdown ends:


Initially the admission process of Class 1 was to start on the March 1 and of class 2 from April 1, 2020 like last year but first, the guidelines modifications took the front seat in delaying the process which was then taken over by COVID 19 and now the dates of the start and end of the admission process of all 1225 schools that come under KVS is still on hold. It is said that the online application might take a faster turn once the lockdown is over.

Follow New Guidelines:


As far as the process goes, it will be in the manner- the parents would first have to fill out an admission form online through the central process and register themselves for KV admissions at kvsonlineadmissons.in and then follow the new guidelines and further process. As for the seat availability, for class 1 admission, 15 % of the total seats are reserved for SC and 7.5 % are reserved for ST.

The Deputy Commissioner will be allowed to conduct further admissions in case the full capacity of class 1 is not met. The initial dates for the same were that the normal admission would be completed by June 30 and if need be to conduct additional admissions to fulfill the standard strength would then generally end on July 31st. But as mentioned earlier the dates are now uncertain.

Age Criteria for Class 1 in KV Schools:


The Eligibility for the kid’s admission for class 1 is that the kid should be of 5 years of age as of 31st March in the academic year of the admission. The kids born on April 1 should also be considered. Documents of the proof should be made available at the time of the admission process in the form of the Birth Certificate that is issued by the competent authorities that register the birth. KV Admissions – Online Registrations from 1st March 2019

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), New Delhi has released admission notice for the academic year 2019-20. The schedule with all important events like online applications, deadlines and guidelines are issued by KVS and the same has been sent to all the schools across the country. The admission notification is also displayed on the websites of KV Schools and Regional Centers.

Schedule of KV Admissions 2019-20:

1) Advertisement of Admission: Last week of February 2019
2) Online Registration for Class 1: From 1st March 2019
3) Last date for online registration for Class 1: 19th March 2019

Declaration of Selection List:

After the completion of application process, KVs will scrutiny the applications. Selection list of the students will be declared as per the schedule given below:

First list of selected candidates: 26 March 2019
Second list of selected candidates: 9th April 2019

If seats remain vacanct, third list also will be released on 23 April 2019.

Second Notification:

Depending on the vacancies, KVS will announce second admission notification for admissions to be made under RTE provisions. Following is the schedule for second round of admissions:

Notification Release: 30 March 2019
Registrations: 30th March – 6th April 2019
Admissions: 8th April – 15th April 2019

Registrations for SC / ST categories:

In case sufficient number of registrations for SC / ST categories not received in 1st phase, second admission notification may be issued for them. Following is the schedule:

Notification Release: 30 March 2019
Registrations: 30th March – 6th April 2019
Admissions: 8th April – 15th April 2019

Registrations for Class 2 and Higher Classes:

Schedule: 2nd April to 9th April 2019
Declaration of list of class 2 onwards: 12 April 2019
Admission for class II onwards: 12 – 20 April 2019
Last date for admission except Class XI: 30 April 2019
