University of Mumbai has announced a new programme in Data Science. The professional masters degree programme Data Science is a two years course which includes advanced technologies and applications. The training in Data Science programme of University of Mumbai is offered through MOOC videos, flipped classrooms, all round education in modular structure etc.

Fee Waiver:

The fees for the course is approximately Rs. 20000. Fee waiver scheme is available for good scoring students in entrance examination.

Entrance Test:

Admission into this innovative programme is offered through a national level entrance examination to be conducted on 27th July 2018 for the academic year 2018-19. Online application deadline is 18th July 2018. The programme is open to all the graduates of any discipline.

For Class XII students:

Class XII / 10+2 passed students also can seek admission into micro – degree / certifications in data science being offered by University of Mumbai. The courses are offered through project based learning, continuous evaluation and end semester examination.

Entrance Exam Syllabus:

The minimum qualification to appear for entrance exam of Data Science programme is HSC for Micro Degrees and Degree for Masters Programme. The test duration is 90 minutes and there will be negative marking in the examination.

Syllabus for the entrance test includes subjects like English, General Knowledge, Logical Ability, Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer Science.

Jamia Milia Islamia has launched an innovative modern program for the aspirants of career in science stream. Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Jamia Milia Islamia (Jamia University) has started B.Sc Aeronautics in association with Pawan Hans Limited. The course is offered in Mechanical and Avionics streams and it is a degree program. The admissions are open for the academic year 2018-19.

Selected candidates will have an opportunity to appear in various modules of DGCA. The students will also get Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence from DGCA after successful completion of the program.

Duration and Training:

Duration of the course is three years or six semesters. First 5 semesters of the program will be a mix of theory and practical classes. The students will undergo practical / hands on experience / training in live helicopter / aircraft in the sixth semester, that is last semester.

Application Forms:

Candidates may obtain online application form which is available on JMI portal jmi.ac.in and also at www.jmicoe.in. The application fee is Rs. 700. There will be an entrance examination on 29th July 2018. The last date for the submission of online applications is 14th July 2018.

Number of seats:

B.Sc Aeronautics will have 60 seats. These are divided into 30 seats each in Mechanical and Avionics streams.

Eligibility Requirement:

Candidates should have Senior Secondary School Certification / Intermediate / 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as main subjects. They must have secured at least 55 percent marks.

Entrance Exam Pattern:

The entrance test will be for 2 hours. All the questions will be in multiple choice type. The admissions will be based on merit and reservation policy of the University.

Fee:

The annual fee for B.Sc Aeronautics program of Jamia University is Rs. 1,30,000. This has to be paid by the student annually. The classes for the selected candidates will commence from 20th August 2018.
